Boston Dynamics threatens the human race again with the abilities of its robot

Boston Dynamics robot Atlas

Boston Dynamics continues to play with fire. The most publicized robotics company in the world (and probably one of the most advanced) has once again posted its latest progress with its humanoids, and the results could not be more surprising (and terrifying at the same time). With the idea of continuing to remember the simulation we are experiencing, we have wanted to compile some of the best moments of these robots, which at any moment could endanger the human race.

give me the hammer

In the latest video posted by the company, Atlas the humanoid robot leaves us with our mouths open again. The situation raised in the demonstration shows how the robot would be able to solve a situation in which a human needs to receive a series of objects while he is in a place at a height.

Simulating a construction site, the human asks the robot to pass him some tools that are on the lower floor, to which Atlas responds quickly, going up to the upper floor with the help of a board and a lot of skill.

parkour lover

The final movement of the previous video makes it clear that Atlas is a very skilled humanoid. That was something we already knew, since the parkour demo It was something that was quite impressive. Really, this video is the origin of many nightmares where a robot chases you until it ends your life.

The cheetah living up to its name

Another of the robots that Boston Dynamics has is Cheetah (Cheetah). Its main characteristic is that it was capable of reaching very fast speeds of up to 45 kilometers per hour. However, it required connection cables that did not allow it to be an automaton.

The one that was automaton is Wildcatwhich reached 32 kilometers per hour with a somewhat questionable balance. Both bots are outdated and have stopped working forever (luckily for everyone).

AlphaDog’s first steps

As if it were a minotaur, the AlphaDog prototype tests were truly spectacular. It was financed by DARPA and the United States Navy, and the idea was to create a robot capable of transporting 180 kilos on routes of up to 32 kilometers.

Where is the limit?

As you can see, the advances of Boston Dynamics are incredible. With Atlas, they have achieved a humanoid automaton capable of not only recognizing obstacles, but also solving the problems that arise to get from point A to point B. It is true that the situations will probably be programmed so that the robot performs the pattern for which it was programmed, but still, we find it hard to believe that it is capable of certain movements.
