Bouygues Telecom outage: the fixed internet network is knocked out in several major cities in France

On this Friday, April 15, 2022, many Bouygues Telecom customers are complaining that they can no longer connect to the Internet via their Bbox. Obviously, a major failure is currently affecting the operator’s fixed internet network. For now, the company has not yet made an official statement on the subject.

fixed bouygues breakdown

You are a Bbox customer at Bouygues Telecom and you have had all the difficulties in the world to connect to the Internet since this early afternoon? Rest assured, you are not the only one. Obviously, a massive outage is currently affecting the fixed internet network of the French operator. In November 2021, it was the turn of the mobile network to be HS.

On DownDetector, a site specializing in identifying failures of popular services/applications, the number of reports is skyrocketing on the Bouygues Telecom page since 1 p.m. on this Friday, April 15, 2022. At the time of writing these lines, the reports exceed the 2700and that number has been growing ever since.

Of course, the reactions also abound on the site. “General failure of Bouygues. I’m in 91 too, but apparently it’s in several big cities + Ile-de-France”, explains a user. “Bouygues OFF… Great. Nothing works, even 1064 and the app. Operator of…”, annoys another user.

Complaints multiply, Bouygues remains silent

On Twitter, the number of complaints is also exploding. “According to DownDetector, the Bouygues outage even affects Marseille and Lyon. Here the same no more internet on the Bbox for an hour already in the 91″, details the Innocent XI tweetos. “I tried to reach you without success because my connection is KO with a Bbox. I have the C1 error and no one answers me! I have already checked the forums and self-diagnosed, still nothing!”, complains another user.

As you can see, the complaints mainly concern the fixed Internet network of the operator. It is also noted that customers also experience difficulties in reaching Bouygues teams via 1064, the short number of the operator. Anyway, this breakdown visibly affects several major cities in France, starting with Paris and Ile-de-France in general, without forgetting Lyon, Marseille, Nice or Toulouse.

For the moment, the operator still hasn’t spoken. In fact, it is impossible to know the origin of the breakdown and to know if the services will be restored quickly or not. Too bad for Bouygues, which had just announced the arrival of Wi-Fi 6E in its Bboxes.
