A few days ago one of the most anticipated releases for the Nintendo Switch hit the market: Bayonetta 3. This title continues the saga of the witch 8 years after the launch of the second installment, which has caused great expectation among the followers of this Platinum Games saga. However, not everything is as good news as one might expect, because, as we feared, the game has been released exclusively for the latest Nintendo console, leaving console and PC users unable to play it. At least officially.
These types of decisions are the ones that end up putting the community against the users. And it is that, both on PC, and on other platforms, we can get hold of the first installment of the saga, also at a very good price. Without going any further, we can buy Bayonetta 1 on Steam for less than 5 euros, if we know how to find the right moment.
With the release of Bayonetta 2, things have already changed, since this title came out exclusively for the Wii U, and later a remaster for Nintendo Switch. But the rest of the consoles and the PC were left without the possibility of continuing this saga.
Now, with the launch of the new Bayonetta 3, history repeats itself, and that is that PlatinumGames has decided to sell itself to Nintendo and leave the rest of the players in the lurch. Luckily, at least on PC, there are always ways to get out of trouble and enjoy, if we like, this new installment.
How to play Bayonetta 3 on PC
The first thing we must bear in mind is that, in order to legally play this game on PC, it is necessary to meet a series of requirements:
- Be the owner of a Nintendo Switch. And if it is one of the first, and “vulnerable”, better.
- Buy the Bayonetta 3in physical or digital, to be the owner of it.
- Have a mid-high range PC that can emulate the Switch without problems.
We are also going to need the emulator that allows us to load this game. We recommend you Ryujinx, since it is one of those that give the best performance, although Yuzu is also a good option. Also, in both cases we will need to extract from our console:
- The Nintendo keys (prod.keys and title.keys).
- The latest version of Nintendo firmware. Specifically, Bayonetta 3 runs on Firmware 15 or higher.
And also make us a copy, in XCI or NSP, of Bayonetta 3.
We install the firmware in the emulator, we load the game, and that’s it. We can now start playing this new installment on the PC in a 100% legal way, since we will be the owners of the game and the console. If we want to improve the quality of the title, in the emulator, under Settings > Graphics, we can find the different resolutions to put it in 4K and 60 FPS and enjoy this installment better than on the console itself.
And play Bayonetta 2?
If we have only played the first installment, and we want to play the second before going for the third (something more than recommended, since otherwise we will lose ourselves in the lore), there is also the possibility of playing this installment in our computer.
In this case, we have two options. The first of them is to use a Nintendo Wii U emulator that allows us to load the game from the computer and be able to play it without problems, as long as the PC hardware allows it. We recommend you Cemusince it is one of the best Wii U emulators, in addition to having all kinds of filters and optimizations that will allow us to play the game even better than on the console.
If, on the contrary, we prefer to play it in its remastered version for Nintendo Switch, we can also do it by following the same steps that we have followed with Bayonetta 3, but changing the game package (remember, the NSP or XCI) for that of this second delivery.
