Canon enhances its varioPRINT iX printers with new software

The Canon firm has confirmed the launch of a new software that improves the possibilities of its varioPRINT iX printers, a generation that currently adds more than 125 installations in the EMEA area. According to Canon, more than 45% of customers chose the varioPRINT iX as their first investment in production printing hardware from the Japanese company, and installed it to complement existing presses or to replace legacy technologies. This series offers a high level of automation and multiple advanced functions that help print service providers save costs in both labor and maintenance, which translates into improved return on investment and productivity. the costs.

These printers use iQuariusIX ink, and thanks to their printing technology they provide a high print quality, so much so that it is capable of reproduce 91% of Pantone spot colors. It can also work with more than 1,000 approved substrates, including standard coated, uncoated and creative offset media, enabling printing for a wide range of applications from premium direct mail and books to brochures and calendars.

The print speed of the Canon varioPRINT iX series is also no slouch, boasting the print speed fastest in its class with all that this entails in terms of productivity. Its performance has been further improved with the software R4.3, that helps achieve an exceptional level of image quality, efficiency and productivity.

This new version enables the benefits of short-run or custom digital printing to be applied to an even greater number of applications, such as premium direct mail and high-quality, image-rich books. All this is achieved through a new automatic image quality check system, which scans each sheet to carry out this control and performs dynamic system adjustments when necessary.

Another performance enhancement is the automated Customer Media Validation (MVP) process, which facilitates the configuration of new supports with the help of a wizard, as well as improved detection of possible multi-sheet feeds in the paper input module (PIM), which diverts detected sheets to the sentry.
