Capcom unveils a new page on its site, solely dedicated to the creation of a countdown. What surprise does the studio have in store for us?
In terms of communication, Capcom is one of the best development studios, and the proof is with this new demonstration. The studio has indeed created a new page on its site, and this one is only devoted… to a rather creepy countdown. Nothing else on it except the countdown numbers, written in large print like staring eyes.
The latter, if we rely on our calculations, takes us to the February 21 at 7 a.m. in the morning French time, at which time Capcom will probably have to announce something very important to us. However, the company gives us no clue as to the content of this announcement or even on the degree of its importance. By searching a little, we still have some ideas.
What to expect ?
The first that comes to mind concerns the franchise resident Evil, one of Capcom’s biggest bestsellers. Last year, the studio unveiled the eighth opus, Resident Evil Village, and since the productions stamped as the horror game continue to multiply. We think in particular of the anime Infinite Darknessto the movie Welcome to Raccoon City or even the live-action series of which we don’t know much. The perfect opportunity to find out more?
We also think of an announcement related to the anniversary of the franchise street fighterwhich celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2022. For some fans of fighting games, this would be the perfect opportunity to announce a street fighter 6, which would materialize the popularity of the license. Earlier in the year, Capcom had also unveiled a brand new logo to celebrate this anniversary.

Capcom hasn’t shared anything yet
So all that’s left is to use it somewhere, and a game would be a good opportunity. However, Capcom has not yet confirmed any of this, and these assumptions, as well as all those made by fans, are only mere rumors. Worse still, the development of street fighter 6 has never been formalized by the studio, so we are even sure that a sixth opus is on the way. We could for example be entitled to a remaster, a remake or a collection like the 30th anniversary of the franchise.
