The noose tightens for The Batman. A few months before its release, the new dark knight film is revealed in a trailer, mainly devoted to Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne.
The relationship between Catwoman and Batman will obviously be at the heart of the tale of The batman. A few months before its release on the big screen, Matt Reeves’ new film is revealed in a trailer. The 2m38 sequence which includes new images, and in particular of Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne. We also discover that The Riddler has a weakness for telephone hoaxes, what could be more normal for the king of the enigma. It is also an opportunity for Warner Bros to confirm that he will be the main antagonist, but also to introduce a new element of the plot that will be explored with this first installment.
A secret about the Wayne family
Indeed, we understand that a heavy secret about the Wayne family will be revealed, which is also the objective of The Riddler. Alfred also seems to be involved, evidenced by his exchange with Bruce at 1m37. As a reminder, The batman takes us into the first two years of the Masked Vigilante as he takes on the Gotham Underworld. They will be respectively played by Colin Farrell, John Turturro and Zoë Kravitz. Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright will play Alfred Pennyworth and James Gordon.
DC Movie of the Year?
For the DCEU, The batman is the event not to be missed. After several relatively successful feature films, Warner Bros. hopes to get back on track with this new adventure of Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight. It must be said that within the DC Comics universe, he is undoubtedly the most popular character.
Completely independent of the main saga, with the adventures of Wonder-Woman or Aquaman, this component has obviously taken some liberties. Moreover, the studios are rather confident about the reception of this new work, since they are already developing two derivative series for HBO Max.
We should notably find Jeffrey Wright in the skin of Commissioner James Gordon in Gotham PD as well as a series centered on the Penguin by Colin Farrell. Other projects could also be in development, although HBO Max has not yet communicated on the subject. The approach is part of a desire to develop a cinematographic and television universe, like Marvel and its productions on Disney +.
