[CBLoL 2022] RED beats paiN in the struggle and wins the third championship

RED Kalunga is three-time champion from CBLoL. Last Saturday, the Pack beat paiN Gaming by 3×2 in the decision of the Brazilian League of Legends Championship and lifted the trophy of this First Stage. With the result, the team will represent Brazil at the MSI Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), which starts on May 10th.

By the way, after being crowned champions of Brazil, RED already knows who the group opponents will be in the international tournament: Royal Never Give Up (China), fastPay Wildcats (Turkey) and PSG TALON (Hong Kong). Of these, only the top two advance to the next level.

But before talking about the future, it is worth checking out how the highly disputed series of the Brazilian decision was.

Grand Final (23/04) — paiN Gaming x RED Kalunga (champion)

On one side was RED, who started the tournament very well, but dropped in performance at the end of the CBLoL points stage. On the other, a paiN that started badly and “turned the key” to guarantee a spot in the playoffs. Both, however, with great performances in the knockout stage.

And speaking of the final stage, it was paiN Gaming who took the lead in the grand final. The good macro executed by the team and Cariok’s aggressive gameplay made the Traditionals’ carriers extremely strong. The result? PaiN won in the 28th minute.

From then on, it became a “back and forth”. Highlighting the Aegis game, RED tied the series in the next game and kept the dream of the two-time championship alive. The problem is that paiN was back in front in the third game after the great performance of dyNquedo’s Vex.

But that was paiN’s last victory in the final (no more spoilers, is it?). Undaunted by the pressure, RED put together a great engage composition and left no room for paiN to play. It may even look like a movie script, but CBLoL’s decision was really for the last game.

And he was totally red. RED repeated the performance of the fourth game and did not let paiN play. The Pack was dominant throughout the game and, after conquering the soul of the ocean and the baron, they did not find it difficult to finish the series and lift the mug of the First Stage of CBLoL 2022. The third of RED Kalunga.

League of Legends Brasileirão break

As stated earlier, expectations are now for RED’s performance at the MSI, which will take place between May 10th and 29th in South Korea. And as Flamengo won the Academy a few days ago, the CBLoL will make the familiar pause between splits.

If Riot Games follows a schedule similar to last year’s, the tournament’s second leg should begin in mid-June. More details and the official calendar should be released by then.
