Cheap intel motherboards … Delayed and will be more expensive!

The price increase of the Z690 chipset high, mid and low-end motherboards is posing a rather high barrier that most users do not want to overcome. There are more than 100 models, but cheap … Virtually none. That’s why users wait for H670, B660 and H610 chipsets Like May water to launch together with DDR4 and the new CPUs to mount a PC, but… One of the three is delayed and they will all be more expensive!

CES 2022 is approaching and we are all looking forward to it. The companies are eagerly awaiting him to launch their respective blows, and unsurprisingly the leaks are heating up the atmosphere. If the series filters H and P of processors for laptops is going to be an unprecedented performance leap in this sector, in desktop they are looking more towards price than performance, as Intel has overtaken AMD again, but their products are not accessible.

Intel Chipset B660 and H610, the expected great

The blue giant wants to complete the entire range of chipset for its already famous Alder Lake, so in the face of fierce criticism of the inaccessibility of its platforms, after the controversy with DDR5 and its stock, as well as its general prices, it wants to pour water over the fire to put it out on the basis of two new chipsets where all hopes are.

When will they arrive? After the announcement on January 4 at CES, specifically on January 5 at dawn, where in our country it would be about noon. To the point that Intel would have already delivered chipsets more than two months in advance of this date, where manufacturers already have motherboards ready and are currently traveling to wholesalers or directly to stores to be on that date. of day 5.

Few models and units, more expensive and with delays

Advancing shipments is contradictory if we are talking about delays, but we are not referring to B660 and H610, but to the H670. The first two will arrive on time but the last and least attractive for almost everyone will be postponed after the Chinese New Year and its holidays, so we will surely see it for the middle of February hopefully.

Why? Because since the B660 accepts overclocking in RAM, its superior brother is less attractive to everyone, since the overclocking in Alder Lake is negligible and therefore not useful. This chipset has average characteristics that place it in an uncertain scenario and although there were rumors of cancellation, it has simply been postponed for now.

What these three new chipsets will have in common is something that we have already seen: a higher price on the motherboards that integrate it, so again the 500 series will be the last we see with prices in line with expectations. Cheaper than Z690? Sure, but maybe not as much as initially expected, which could take away all or at least some of the appeal of these motherboards.
