China graphics cards, are they worth it to play games on PC?

The graphics cards They have been in the eye of users, companies and miners for more than 4 years, so they are currently the subject of constant debate. If in that unbalanced equation we introduce China, then we have a complicated cocktail to digest, since we enter the darkest terrain of speculation and falsification. Therefore, knowing this, is it worth opting for a Chinese graphics card or one from that country?

Well, it is not easy to answer, mainly because China is advancing at such a high rate driven by its companies that in a single generation of graphics cards, what has been said here could become obsolete. But we have to stick to the reality of the moment, so we will try to shed a little light on what China offers in terms of graphics cards.

The internal debate you must have when buying graphics cards from China

The saying “that’s a tall tale” doesn’t just come. China is the queen of scams and counterfeiting in general at a level that cannot even be quantified by the authorities. Therefore, and as we discussed in another article, having a trusted seller is key.

The problem comes with Chinese graphics card models. The quality standards of that country are lower and although everything is manufactured there, it is the exporting companies that set the error rate that they consider acceptable. Any AIB can manufacture a product of the highest quality, but you have to pay for it and here comes the first debate that we have to consider, does cheaper mean worse?

If you have a TOP assembler like ASUS and an assembler that only runs the Chinese market and the prices are very different for the same GPU, the obvious and the warning in your brain as a general rule they will be right. And there are manufacturers who want to offer cheaper graphics cards at the expense of lower overall quality. It is something that is very popular in China and even more so knowing the prices of graphics cards, but the problems come later and here comes the second debate that you must have.

The price, the guarantee and the logistics in customs

Suppose you decide to purchase a model from a Chinese manufacturer that only works in your country. In this case, consider two problems: the worst component in itself implies increased risk of breakage and more in a component of the highest level and demand such as a GPU, and therefore, there is a greater probability that you will have to process a guarantee.

That said, does the manufacturer or store support warranties outside of China for your graphics card? It is the first thing you should ask in writing via email. If the answer is yes and you can rest easy, now comes the logistics to make everything a little more complicated.

If the specific store or seller does not introduce the package with your graphics card from China through Germany in the containers that arrive from Asia and has an agreement with the EU in this regard, rest assured that that package will be stopped at customs in Barajas. This is going to imply fees plus VAT of our country.

Let’s assume again that you accept and pay. If the graphics card fails and you have to send it to the store or distributor, the shipping costs are at your expense and they are not exactly cheap, apart from the fact that the content of the card must be declared. As we can see, there are many obstacles that we have to overcome and too much uncertainty generated by such a product. If everything goes well for us, it can be a great purchase, but if something of the mentioned fails, it can be horrible experience.
