The browser has become a fundamental tool on a day-to-day basis, not only is it a tool that we must master in our work, but we must also get along with it if we use it to study or on a day-to-day basis. If this fails and we don’t have any other browser installed, we have a serious problem.

We have a serious problem because it is an essential tool on a day-to-day basis, a problem that has a very simple solution, especially if it is the Chrome browser. Yes Chrome closes by itself, locks or does not open We have different methods to solve this problem, however, the one we show you below works in most cases, so it is the first one we should try.

Disable all extensions

Chrome is the most used browser in the world with a share that is close to 70%, although that does not mean that it is the best browser on the market, since practically all of them offer us the same functionalities, including support for extensions. Extensions are usually, 90% of the time, guilty that both Chrome and other browsers do not work correctly, hang or even close unexpectedly.

The extensions are a kind of applications that are installed in Chrome, and that, if they are not well programmed, can cause stability problems in the browser, so it is never recommended to abuse these types of small applications. To check if the culprit is one of the different extensions that we have, we can go one by one deactivating them and check if Chrome works without problems.

However, if the number of extensions that we have installed is very high, we can opt for start chrome without extensions, being this the fastest method to check if the problem lies in these plugins. To start Chrome without extensions, we just have to edit the shortcut by adding -disable-extensions after the quotes.

If after disabling all Chrome extensions we still have the same crash issue, we easily come to the conclusion that the reason affecting Chrome performance is not related to these apps that add features to Chrome, but to the browser itself.

The solution to this problem is as simple as completely resetting Chrome. By resetting Chrome, each and every one of the extensions that we have installed in Chrome are removed, regardless of whether they are activated or deactivated. In addition, both cookies and cache will also be cleared and the browser’s native settings will be reset to default values.

To reset Chrome settings, we must click on the three vertical points located in the upper right corner of the browser and access Setting. In the left column, click on Recover Settings and Clean to, finally, in the section on the right, click on Restore original default settings.
