In February 2020, Citroën lifted the veil on the “Friend”, a small electric city car without a license available from 14 years old in France. First available in Fnac and Darty stores, the electric car arrived in dealerships a few months later, during the summer of 2020.

We also had the opportunity to test the Citroen Ami for a few days as part of its release on the market. In 2021, the car brand had finally unveiled a new version of its vehicle, a My Ami Cargo edition with a totally revised interior but with the same technical base and a higher price. When launching this new version, however, Citroen did not touch its price list.

Here are all the prices of the Citroën Ami

Initially, the car without a license was offered at the starting price of 6900 euros. At the start of the year, the automotive giant announced a slight price increase. The starting price of the Citroën Ami is now set at 7,390 euros. Obviously, the price of all versions with options has also been increased. Here is the non-exhaustive price list:

  • At Miami : €7,390, i.e. €19.99/month after a first payment of €3,100
  • My Ami Color (Orange, Khaki, Gray or Blue) : €7790, i.e. €19.99/month after a first payment of €3,500
  • My Friend Pop: 8290 euros, i.e. €24.98/month after a first payment of €3,788
  • My Friend Vibe : €8,750, i.e. €29.99/month after a first payment of €4,034
  • My Friend Cargo : €7790, i.e. €20.99/month after a first payment of €3414

Despite this increase, the Citroen Ami remains the cheapest unlicensed car on the market. In the press release announcing the price increase, the brand welcomes the success of the city car, unique on the market today, despite the delays in delivery.

“This success is also linked to an entire ecosystem developed especially for Ami, including a fully digital customer journey, from online discovery and purchases to home deliveries and test drives, as well as all-new distribution channels complementing our 200 dealers”, explains Citroën. Could the arrival of Eli’s ZERO reshuffle the cards? We are waiting for your opinion in the comments.
