City on Fire will arrive in serial format to Apple TV +

The number of books that have been adapted in serial format on Apple TV + is quite high, both in adult content and children’s content. The Foundation series, based on the saga of books by Isaac Asimov is one of the most recent examples, a series will premiere in September of this same, specifically on the 24th.

Apple has taken over the rights to the book City of Fire, a book by Garth Risk Hallberg that will become a 8-episode series for Apple TV +. The project will be directed by Josh Schwartz, known as a screenwriter for Chuck, Gossip Girl and The OC series.

In “City on Fire,” a New York University student is shot in Central Park on July 4, 2003. Samantha Cicciaro is alone; there are no witnesses and very little physical evidence. Her friends’ band is playing at her favorite club downtown, but she leaves to meet someone and vows to return. She never does. As the crime against Samantha is investigated, it is revealed that she is the crucial connection between a series of mysterious fires across the city, the downtown music scene, and a wealthy uptown real estate family fraying under the hood. tension of the many secrets they keep.

At the moment it is not known who will be part of the cast, or when production is scheduled to begin. As the months go by, we will learn more news about Garth Risk Hallberg’s interesting adaptation to the small screen.
