Coachella will sell tickets valid for life in the form of NFT

The music festival has also given in to the madness of NFTs, by selling ten tickets valid “for life”.

After a two-year absence due to the pandemic, Coachella will be making a comeback in 2022, to the delight of audiophiles and influencers. The music festival innovates however, since for the first time since its launch in 1999, it is preparing to deliver ten lifetime passes. Ten golden tickets which are already in danger of being snapped up by fans, but which unlike those of Roald Dahl in Charlie and the chocolate factory will not be free.

From Friday, February 4, Coachella will put on sale three sets of NFTs, entitling each to different advantages. While the first two, accessible from $60, will give the right to a series of digital audio and photo works, the last — undoubtedly the most interesting — will offer 10 places (for two) valid for life, offering their owners a ticket reserved each year to attend the festival, but also its many virtual experiences$500 in food and drink vouchers, as well as private transportation throughout the festival.

Each Coachella Key will include a few exclusive perks, ranging from private restrooms to a tour led by a festival producer. Auctioned in a few days, their final price is already likely to rub shoulders with the stars. Especially since the lucky winners will also receive a special place for the 2022 editionwhich will include front-row access to the concerts, as well as a dinner prepared by a celebrity chef.

Coachella gets into crypto

The fact that one of the most famous music festivals in the world is going into NFTs is ultimately not so surprising. Remember that AEG, the company that owns Coachella, recently renamed the mythical Staples Center into Crypto.com Arena, and that NFTs now represent a significant and lasting financial windfall for the original seller, who will continue to receive a commission for each change of hand. However, the company has announced that part of the profits generated by this sale will go to charities. Photographers and artists who have collaborated on certain NFTs will also receive feedback on their work.
