There are still a few months left until the release date of Cobra Kai 4, the fourth season of the sequel series of Karate Kid broadcast by Netflix, new episodes in which it seems that Daniel and Johnny could make peace (at least for a while).
Will Cobra Kai 4 put an end to the rivalry between Daniel and Johnny?
Cobra Kai’s main characters, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) have been through a lot in the last three seasons. After returning to each other’s lives and going head-to-head with their dojos, the two have finally found common ground and are joining in the fight to defeat their common enemy, John Kreese (Martin Kove), who took control of the Cobra Kai.
Daniel and Johnny now work together with the new Miyagi-do / Eagle Fang group and have joined forces. This, however, does not mean that in the fourth season we will see the duo cooperate without problems or hitches. Daniel and Johnny are notoriously childish when it comes to dealing with each other, so it will be interesting to find out how next season unfolds.
During the presentation of Cobra Kai 4, co-creator and co-showrunner of the series, Josh Heald, told The Hollywood Reporter:
“I can only say, without revealing spoilers, that Season 4 will build on the premise of the series, showing what happens when these guys enter each other’s lives and hang out. We have seen discussions, we have seen consequences and reactions (overreactions), and now we are entering a phase where they lay down their weapons, look at each other and accept the challenge in front of them with Kreese. They will try to take the next step and try to grow as adults and leaders. And it’s a great turning point for them as artists and for their characters because it starts to provide new colors to their backgrounds that are not just a relationship made of “I hate you, I hate you”. “
What do you think? Is it time for Daniel and Johnny to bury the hatchet?
