Last week we were able to get a first look at the Cowboy Bebop live action series made by Netflix, through some images published on the net by the same giant of video streaming. The reactions of the fans have been of the most disparate but, in general, the most seem to have been disappointed by the appearance of the character of Faye Valentine, played in the show by Daniella Pineda.
Daniella Pineda responds, on video, to those who were disappointed with Faye Valentine’s look
And the actress, after thousands of messages from fans arrived on social media, decided to respond with a video message where, not without a hint of bitterness, she reminded everyone that the anatomical proportions of Faye’s character are practically unrealistic (and the dress worn in the anime really impractical).
“I wanted to apologize to the fans for not making Faye Valentine’s character anatomically identical,” the actress began in the video. “Five foot eight, a double-D bust, two centimeters waist… you have to know that they looked everywhere for that woman and couldn’t find her, and it was a little weird. So they chose my low butt … “
The actress then went on to talk about the “impractical” costume worn by her character in the anime.
“You know, we tried doing stunts with the fabric, but some things disappeared and tore, sometimes got lost…”.
“They made a couple of that original costume but ended up slipping into my various recesses, never to be found”
Here is Daniella Pineda’s video response to angry Cowboy Bebop fans:
