Deezer now translates song lyrics, a first in music streaming

In a recent press release, Deezer announced that it was the first music streaming service to offer translated song lyrics. In total, more than 10,000 titles, selected according to their popularity on the platform, will be able to benefit from this new feature. It will be possible to translate English into French, Portuguese, German and Spanish. More songs will be added over time.

Flagship of French streaming, Deezer redoubles its efforts every year to stand up to the giants of the sector. With a catalog of 90 million titles in high definition, the service does not have to be ashamed of its features compared to the competition. Since 2014, the latter has notably offered to display the lyrics of songs, an option that it was also the first to make available. Today, the platform goes even further by launching the translation of songs.

Thus, approximately 10,000 titles written in English will provide access to their text in French, Portuguese, German and Spanish. Deezer also adds that other songs from the catalog will be added over time. The music service hopes fans as well “rediscover their favorite titles, better understand the world of artists or learn a new language in music. »

How to access the translation of songs on Deezer

This feature is available today on the iOS, Android, web and desktop versions of the app. Only a few steps are necessary to access it. Here is how to benefit from it:

  • Open the app Deezer on your device
  • Start playing a song
  • Click on microphone icon then on Words
  • Select option With translation

From then on, the text displayed on the screen will be translated into the desired language. If you want to go back to the original lyrics, just press the button again. Without translation. All users can have access to it, without needing to subscribe to a Premium subscription. As a reminder, this has increased to €10.99/month, while the Family offer now costs €17.99/month, following the 20% increase last January.
