Cervezas San Miguel has launched “Delivery On Time”, the winning project of the second edition of the Beer Jam by San Miguelorganized by the brand last July, which brought together more than 40 developers from all over the country so that they could present a model of a video game. The event was held in person within the framework of the Dreamhack Valencia festival, a meeting point for the gamer community in our country.
The winning team of this second edition of the Beer Jam by San Miguel was Beers & Games, who received a prize of 12,000 euros, of which 5,000 euros were destined entirely to the complete development of his video game “Delivery on Time”, and which is now a reality.
Following the theme “Together with a San Miguel”, the video game “Delivery on Time” consists of control a beer delivery man throughout a working day with the aim of ensuring that, before time runs out, they collect the cases of beer in the Cervezas San Miguel truck and distribute them to the customers who are waiting excitedly on the terraces to enjoy a San Miguel. Once the distribution is finished, the empty boxes must be taken to a recycling point. All of this against the clock, since if a box spends a long time being delivered it will heat up and it can no longer be sold, so the player will not achieve his goal.
To expand the universe of Cervezas San Miguel within the game, references to some of the most important collaborators of the brand have been incorporated into the map. Therefore, we can see a gaming space with arcade machines and the presence of Team Heretics; a BBK Live music stage and soccer environments throughout the map.
With this action, the brand seeks support and give visibility to the sector of video game developers in Spainvaluing their work and helping them overcome the obstacles they face to carry out their profession in our country.
“I think that the support of the brands is very important especially when creating events like this, in which developers can test their limits, learn from other colleagues and share knowledge.”, they comment Laura Rubert and Adriana Pino, members of the winning team Beers & Games. Jaume Rodríguez, another of the team members adds that “From Cervezas San Miguel they have been at all times attentive to the development of the game and that interest suggests that there is an intention born of the desire for developers to have more opportunities.” For his part, Alberto Conca, another member of the winning team values the opportunity to participate in the event, as well as the prize received, and affirms without a doubt that “I would participate in another Beer Jam again, as long as work schedules do not prevent me”.
Finally, Virgina Calvo, responsible for multiplatform products at PlayStation TalentsSon and member of the jury for the latest edition of Beer Jam, wanted to highlight that “there are many brands that are joining the Gaming bandwagon, but very few are They really manage to make the industry grow, and teach talent as Cervezas San Miguel has done”.
This is the second video game created thanks to Cervezas San Miguel, which in the first edition of the Beer Jam supported the creation of “Ultimate Beer Racers by Cervezas San Miguel”, an online game with a multiplayer option, in which the main character is a San Miguel beer that does not want to get hot and must get to a fridge as soon as possible, crossing a hot map, and which can also be played through this link: “Ultimate Beer Racers by Cervezas San Miguel”
