Dell Precision 7770, a very powerful workstation

The Dell Precision 7770 is a high-performance workstation that we have been able to discover thanks to a recent leak, and that has totally caught our attention because it has everything to become the most powerful in its classthanks to its impressive configuration at the hardware level.

The brain of the Dell Precision 7770 is a Intel Alder Lake processor with 16 cores divided into two blocks, one with 8 high-performance cores based on the Golden Cove architecture and the other with 8 high-efficiency cores based on the Gracemont architecture. This chip will work at a speed of 3.2 GHz in normal mode and up to 5 GHz in turbo mode, always with a single active core. The more active cores and threads, the lower the work speed.

This will be accompanied by 256GB of DDR5 memory divided into four 64 GB modules, which means that the processor we have referred to will be a Xeon, since it doubles the maximum memory supported by Alder Lake processors for general consumption. Said memory will work at 4,800 MHz.

The display of the Dell Precision 7770 will be 17.3 inches in size, with a resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels (16:10 aspect ratio) and will reproduce the 100% DCI-P3 color space. To move that screen, and that resolution with all the guarantees, this workstation will have a graphics card NVIDIA RTX A6000 in its version for laptops, a latest generation solution based on the GA103 GPU that will add a total of 16 GB of graphics memory. Said GPU has tensor cores and RT cores, which means it can accelerate ray tracing and artificial intelligence.

The list of specifications that has been leaked also refers to a configuration of four 4TB SSD drives, but it is clear that this, like the configuration of RAM, will be optional. The base version of the Dell Precision 7770 will start with much more modest specifications, that’s for sure, but in return it will also be cheaper than the top-of-the-range configuration.

We do not have information on the exact date of departure, nor has the price or weight of this equipment been revealed, but it is clear that It will be expensive and it will be around three kilograms. It would be perfectly understandable considering its power, and the cooling requirements to keep its component temperatures under control.
