CES 2022. Dell XPS 13 Plus is the new version of one of the models that must be included in any list of the best ultraportables on the market. And it arrives well renovated inside and out.
Dell has updated its reference ultralight with a minimalist and modern design. Has removed the classic XPS two-tone carbon fiber interior trim to create a simpler, tone-on-tone design, combining the exterior finish in aluminum with an interior in the same material, available in two colors, platinum or graphite.
As you will see in the images, the Dell XPS 13 Plus takes advantage of its entire size to mount a keyboard with large keys, a top row that now includes a capacitive touch experience and as another great novelty, it debuts a touchpad transparent glass touch offering haptic feedback.
Your screen maintains the quality and options of previous versions, with four 13.4-inch diagonal panels and Infinity Edge design practically without borders, different according to resolution, from an FHD to a 4K with touch technology, through an OLED with 3.5K resolution (3456 x 2160 pixels), support for HDR500 and 100% of the DCI color gamut -P3.
Dell XPS 13 Plus with Intel Alder Lake
As expected, the novelties inside go through the use of the new twelfth generation Core processors for laptops that Intel has presented in Las Vegas, the 28-watt Alder Lake Models to choose from among the Core i5-1240P, Core i7-1260P, Core i7-1270P and Core i7-1280P. This series of processors with 12 or 14 cores, should represent a performance jump compared to the previous XPS 13 that had a limit of 15 watts and have led to changes in the cooling system, now with a double fan.
Its integrated graphics is an Iris X on all models, while RAM options include 8, 16 or 32 Gbytes of LPDDR5 memory up to 5200 MHz. Internal storage ranges from 256 Gbytes to 2 Tbytes with PCIe Gen4 SSDs.
With compact dimensions, 15mm thickness and 1.24kg weight, it manages to offer good connectivity, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, another USB 3.2, a Killer network card for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, HD webcam with support for Windows Hello, four speakers and a 55 WHr battery. There is no headphone jack or MicroSD card expansion, but Dell includes a standard USB-C to USB-A 3.0 adapter in the box.
The truth is that this Dell XPS 13 Plus looks impressive, which with Windows 11 pre-installed will be available in platinum and graphite colors in the spring of 2022. Its base price starts at $ 1,999.
