When you are over fifty, even if you try by all means to be up to date on all technological fronts, sometimes there are things that escape me. The application Discord It sounded familiar to me, but I was not very clear if it is used or not in our country.

Luckily, I have a 13-year-old boy, a gamer like most kids his age, and I went to consult him. And of course, you use Discord on a daily basis with your friends on your PC. It is an application that is resident on your computer, to be able to communicate by voice with your friends, while they play regardless of the game they are running at that time. Well soon there will be a native Discord version for Apple Silicon.

Discord is a popular application for voice, text and video messaging used mainly by gamers, regardless of the game they are using at the time. It is like the voice chat of video consoles, but applied to Windows, iOS, macOS, Android and Linux. An “external” messaging to the game you are using at the time.

The fact is that the developer of said application is working on an update for macOS that provides full support to current Macs from the Apple Silicon era. Although the update is not yet officially available to the public, if you want you can try it on beta phase for your Mac with an M1 processor.

Discord has just released a new version of its application «Canary“Which is basically a beta version of Discord testing new features before final release, running natively on Apple’s M1 processors.
