There is barely a week left for Forspoken hit the market, both for PS5 and PC, and finally Luminous Productions has unveiled the computer that we are going to need to enjoy a show even similar to the one we were able to try in the demo that came to PlayStation Store in December. And the truth is that it does not beat around the bush and only with the latest generation hardware can we expect the best results.
A game that wants to mark an era
As you will remember, Forspoken posted a demo on PlayStation Store with the intention that the players ended up reserving it but, in some cases, the shot backfired on them. The part that they let us try was not bad, but it was too chaotic: the player did not know where in the adventure he was participating, how he had come to have all the powers that the character displayed, or what the nature of the enemies was. who we were up against.
The story of the girl from New York who ends up appearing in a world of magic plagued by an ancestral power was eclipsed by the (often unbridled) careers of the protagonist and a skill tree that already seemed crowded with alternatives to customize it to our liking, without even having passed the mandatory –in all games– process of beginning and evolution. Still, with all that, surely Forspoken once again become a new Square-Enix hit.
The fact is that just a few hours ago the requirements that we will have to meet have been known to play it on PC. And we can already tell you that we will find three very different categories: those that are minimal, those recommended and then the Ultra, which are the ones that throw the house out the window in terms of the hardware that we must have installed on our computer to play 4K games.
What will you need to play it?
Well, let’s take a look at those official requirements for Forspokenwhat are these:
The minimum configuration seems taken directly from what machines like Steam Deck offer, where it surely works without too many problems, yes, with low quality in all textures, effects, etc. Now, within the recommended ones, which will allow us to enjoy Forspoken in a maximum resolution 2K (1440p), We find an important RAM requirement, since 24GB will be needed. An amount that is not usually the usual in many teams.
Of course, as far as the graphics model is concerned, the recommended configuration allows us to take advantage of the power of an RX 6700 or an RTX 3070, which are models that we can now get at better prices than a few months ago. Although if we look at the table of Ultra recommendations to play in 4K, that’s when everything goes haywire and surely many will not be able to meet even half of the requests that Square-Enix makes of us.
This is so because not only RAM memory jumps up to 32GB (twice as usual in many teams), but in the graph it already asks us to jump directly to an RX 6800 or an RTX 4080, which are big words. In all cases, by the way, the use of SSD drives and a total of 150GB of free space is recommended.
