Docplanner Acquires German Digital Health Company Jameda

Doctoralia’s parent company, Docplanner, specializing in SaaS solutions for medical centers, has just announced the purchase of the digital health company in Germany, Jameda, from the Hubert Burda Media group.

Jameda has close to 20,000 healthcare professionals, and attracts eight million patients to its platform on a monthly basis. These figures add significantly to Docplanner’s current customer base of 110,000 healthcare specialists and close to 70 million monthly patients.

As part of the acquisition, healthcare giant Docplanner will invest part of its capital and global expertise in Jameda, with the aim of accelerating the growth of sales, customer service, and marketing teams. Docplanner has high expectations in Germany, and plans to add more than 200 professionals to the Jameda team, and invest more than 250 million euros in the German market over the next two to three years. Docplanner also plans to optimize its solutions by combining the best elements of each platform.

This new acquisition represents for Docplanner the first entry into a new market since 2017, when it started operations in Mexico and Brazil. The company is also a leader in Italy, Spain, Turkey, and in its country of origin, Poland, thus being the digital platform with the greatest geographic reach in the world. Following this acquisition, Docplanner will be active in the markets that generate 50% of all healthcare expenses incurred in Europe, and 84% of those in Latin America.

The company has demonstrated strong organic growth combined with a history of successful acquisitions as part of its global expansion efforts. The group has made six other acquisitions to date, including some companies such as TuoTempo in Italy (2019), Doctoralia in Spain (2016) and Eniyihekim (now Doktortakvimi) in Turkey (2014).
