Now very little is missing for the arrival of Dunes in cinemas and, today, thanks to the revelations made by the French magazine THERE Presses, we found out what the official duration of the new sci-fi film by Denis Villeneuve.
Official duration of Dune unveiled
According to what was declared on the website of the French magazine, the duration of the film will be 2 hours and 35 minutes. The revelation was made while the director, Villeneuve, during the interview, responded to the desire of Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho in the film) to see the full version of the film (which seemed to have a duration of 4 or 6 hours) and not that reduced that instead, according to the actor, will arrive in cinemas.
“Jason is an exuberant being, as great as he can in everything he does”Villeneuve explained. “He loves the movie, which he has seen four times so far, and every time he calls me to tell me how happy he is. It is true that if Joe (Walker, the editor) and I had moved on, we could have done a version that lasted several hours because I filmed a lot. But the final version is really the one on screen. I’ve never done a director’s cut of any of my films ”.
