Dune: the release date slips once again

There seems to be no peace for the blockbuster of Legendary Pictures, Dunes, one of the most anticipated films of the last two years which, once again, slide with its release date at Cinema.

The release date of Dune still slips in the cinema

Warner Bros. has once again postponed the release date of the highly anticipated adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune but, this time, it will not be a one-year delay. Nothing 2022 for Dune but a “simple” 22 October, therefore a delay of 3 weeks compared to 1 October as previously announced.

While Warner Bros’ decision to release Dune and Godzilla vs. Kong as a digital release, on HBO Max on the same day as their theatrical debut, led to some friction with Legendary, the production house behind the films, there doesn’t seem to be any disagreement regarding the decision to delay Dune.

Apparently the decision was necessary due to the postponement of The Many Saints of Newark (a spin-off of The Sopranos), which was moved by a week, from September 24 to October 1, necessitating a further shift of Dune.

Similarly, Clint Eastwood’s next film, Cry Macho, originally slated for the slot that Dune occupies on October 22, will move to September 17.

And let’s hope we no longer have to write news of slips for this highly anticipated film.
