Last year, the National Innovation Company, ENISA, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through the General Directorate of Industry and SMEs, will celebrate its 40th anniversary. Since its creation, the entity has been consolidating its brand and its position as a public place of reference in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and for SMEs.
The figures for this past year have experienced a very positive increase, given that the number of loans approved During 2022, it amounted to a total of 642 operations (14.6% more than in 2021), for an amount of more than 105.5 million euros (13.6% more than in 2021), thus becoming the largest annual investment of its history with a number of record approvals.
This past year, the number of funding requests received amounted to 1,717, for an amount of more than 412.3 million euros. Figures that are slightly lower in requests, although equal in amount to those of the year 2021.
More than 130 million by 2023
On the other hand, this year, ENISA has announced that it will have an initial budget of more than 130 million euros, pending the materialization of the corresponding agreements for the provision of lines with the Ministry of Industry and other ministries that contribute funds from both the General State Budget (PGE) and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
This is the largest budget in its history that will contribute to the creation of new startups and business development in our country, with a firm commitment to innovative entrepreneurship and the transformation of the country’s economic model.
In addition to its role as a financier, this year ENISA will undertake new powers linked to the recently approved Startup Lawthe Strategic Framework for SME Policy and the development of the Spain Entrepreneurial Nation Brand.
