Thanks to Comic-Con @ Home and the official Amazon Prime Video Twitter account, even those who haven’t seen the latest Evangelion movie at the cinema today can take a look at the first two minutes and 16 seconds of Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01: Thrice Upon A Time (Shin Evangelion Gekijō-ban: ||), the new version of Evangelion’s “final” film.
The film, screened in Japan since June 12th in this “final version”, contains “minor revisions” to some animation sequences, but does not change the story of the film which was screened in numerous cinemas until last July 21st.

Now, Amazon Prime Video is preparing to stream it all over the world, including Japan, starting next August 13th. The film will be streamed with voiceovers in 10 languages including English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian (or in Japanese with subtitles in 28 languages).
While awaiting the arrival of the film, here are the first two minutes of the film, which earned the equivalent of 3.4 million dollars in 38 IMAX theaters during its first seven days of screening – the second week of opening. highest for IMAX screenings of a national title in Japan, behind only last year’s Demon Slayer film.
