‘Every end has a beginning’: Netflix releases trailer for Stranger Things season 4

To the sound of one of the classics of Journey, Netflix released the trailer for Stranger Things season 4highlighting at the end the fact that had already been announced: the series will be divided into two halves, with the first part premiering on May 27, followed by the second half on July 1.

Despite the narrative stating that “every ending has a beginning”, it is worth remembering that this will not be the last time we see friends Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, Steve, Nancy, in addition to Joyce and Jim (yes, he returned in the teaser shown last year, remember?) — fighting demongorgons: the series has been renewed for a fifth and final season.

The season 4 trailer opens with Max (Sadie Sink), who reads a letter to his brother Billy (Dacre Montgomery) — brutally murdered by the Mind Flayer last season — telling him a little about what happened after his death. And so we’ve managed to situate the characters since the last time we saw them, and the backdrop for the start of the war begins.

Without further ado (and without giving away spoilers), check out the full trailer below:

What do we know about Stranger Things season 4?

For starters, we know that it takes place in the spring of 1986, after the events that destroyed Hawkins and made Jim sacrifice himself – at least that’s what they tried to imply at the end of season three.

We already know that the story of the time will have eight chapters, as it traditionally is, with the titles released in this teaser here. But we can expect perhaps a little thicker and longer episodes, as the Duffer brothers, creators of the series, recently released an open letter to fans, in which they reported that this was the biggest season of all, with “nine scripts, more than 800 pages, almost two years of filming, thousands of scenes with special effects and practically twice the length of previous seasons”.

“I don’t think we have an episode that’s under an hour — even in Season 1, there were 35-minute episodes. You kind of forget about it,” Matt said, during the press conference. Deadline Contenders Television.

‘Game of Thrones’ from the 1980s

In addition, the Duffer brothers also referred to season 4 as the “season of Game of Thrones”, for a few reasons: in addition to this story having a more extensive narrative, it takes place in different locations, with various groups of characters separately. .

Especially since, as the brothers recall, Joyce’s (Wynona Ryder) family left Hawkins after the events of last season.

“Joyce and the Byers family left at the end of Season 3,” Matt commented at the event, giving more details on the broad scope of Season 4. which we finally managed to do this year in the desert –; and then we have Hopper in Russia; and of course we still have a group in Hawkins. So we have these three stories, all connected and kind of intertwined, but they’re just very different tones.”

So we can also expect cores of stories that took place in parallel, but that in the end will come together in some way, paving the way towards the fifth (and final) season.

And finally, we know that we will finally have a clear explanation of what the Upside Down is and how it came about.

“When we did the first season, Netflix kept saying, ‘Can you explain all this mythology to us?’” Ross said. “So we wrote this giant 20-page document, which talked about everything in terms of what was going on and what exactly the Upside Down was. And so each season, we’re just peeling back the ‘layers of this onion’, so to speak. But this season we really wanted to get into it and [revelar] some of these answers. But to do it properly, we needed time, so it got bigger and bigger.”
