Focus Home Entertainment has confirmed the minimum and recommended requirements that we will need to move Evil West on PC, a game that will be set in an alternate wild west loaded with anachronisms and seasoned with a unique aesthetic. It will be focused mainly on third-person action, and the truth is that the compatible version will be quite affordable.
In addition to the PC version requirements as well the graphic quality modes that this game will have on consoles have transcended, and the truth is that there is something that does not quite add up to us. We’re going to start with the requirements first, and then we’ll look at the Evil West modes on consoles.
Evil West Minimum Requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit operating system.
- Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX 6300 processor.
- 8 GB of RAM.
- GeForce GTX 750 Ti or Radeon RX 460 graphics card.
With this configuration we can play it in 1080p with medium quality and maintain a stable 30 FPS. It is not bad at all, especially considering that we are talking about a configuration that is already a few years old.
There are no serious equivalence errors in the requirements, although the Radeon RX 460 is more powerful than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti.
Evil West Recommended Requirements
- Windows 10 64-bit operating system.
- Intel Core i5-10505 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 processor.
- 16 GB of RAM.
- GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 590 graphics card.
If we meet these requirements we can play it in 1080p and maximum quality while maintaining 60 FPS stable. We will not need a particularly powerful PC, and the graphics cards that appear as recommended were released in 2016 and 2017.
In this case we have an equivalence error in the CPU and another in the equivalence of graphics cards. The Intel Core i5-10505 is more powerful than the Ryzen 5 1600, and the closest match would be a Ryzen 5 3600. GPU-wise, the closest match to the GeForce GTX 1060 would be a Radeon RX 580.
Evil West on consoles: modes and quality
The Xbox One and Xbox One S version will work on 1080p@30FPS, and the same will happen with Xbox Series S, although we imagine that this will offer a higher level of graphic quality. On Xbox One X the game will run in 4K and 30 FPS, and on Xbox Series X it will have two modesa “quality” mode at 4K and 30 FPS, and a “performance” mode at 1080p at 60 FPS.
On PS4 and PS4 Pro there will only be one mode that will make the game run in 1080p and 30 FPS, although in the second it will have a higher graphic quality. Finally we have the PS5 version, which will have the same modes as the Xbox Series X version, that is, one in 4K and 30 FPS and another in 1080p and 60 FPS.
Gives the feeling that Evil West It does not seem to be well optimized in its version for the consoles of the present generation, especially seeing its recommended requirements. The versions for the consoles of the previous generation are another matter, since Xbox One does not reach the minimum requirements and despite everything Evil West works in 1080p and 30 FPS on said console.
