Evnia, Philips goes all out in gaming

That the market of gaming is one of the main props of the PC world it is indisputable. At a time when PC sales seem to be declining, partly due to the economic situation, but also due to the slow but progressive transfer of tasks traditionally associated with computers to other devices, the gaming has become the consumer market in, to paraphrase Morrisey «A light that never goes out«. And Evnia is a clear example of this.

And why do I say that it goes for all? Because Evnia is not a family of products, it is not a line of devicesno, we are talking about its own brand, with its own structure and although it obviously takes elements from Philips, it seeks its own entity from the outset, which is defined based on a declaration of intent, contained in this manifesto, in which what we traditionally expect from a brand gamera social positioning is added that, given the controversies that we have experienced for many years in the world of gaming, we cannot say that it is meaningless.

Thus, the leading role of the presentation event fell, without a doubt, on the Kenyan Sylvia Gathoni, better known as Queen Arrowprofessional eSports competitor (she is part of the XiT Gaming team and is and a member of the Global Esports Federation) specialized in Tekken, and who has long put her international importance at the service of promoting the world of gaming in and in her Kenya hometown, as a proposal for the future for the youngest in their communities, supporting and getting involved in local initiatives.

How can diversity be promoted with gaming devices? This is probably the most repeated question, because in the end we are talking about monitors, keyboards, mice, headphones and pads, objects that for years, although with evolutions and nuances, share many common design elements. At this point, Evnia’s proposal is visually attractive and, at the same time, at least at first glance, quite neutral, with whites, blacks and LED lighting and less aggressive designs than those we can see in products from other brands.

The main contribution in this sense is marked not so much by the design (although the manifest has been taken into account during its design), as by the message associated with their devices and the brand. This, obviously, leads to the eternal discussion between those who consider that these messages add up, and those who consider them simple image actions. Personally, in these cases, I think that the messages add up as long as, yes, the actions of the companies are in line with them. In this regard, Evnia is a newborn, so she has all the necessary skills to do things right from the beginning.

Evnia: performance, universality and sustainability

«Performance, Universal & Welcome, Sustainable» were the three points, highlighted during the presentation, on which the proposal for the ecosystem of devices that will make up the different Evnia product families is based, which will be the following:

Send, Philips goes all out in gaming

Thus, as we can check, we can understand that its entry level is the 3000 Series, although everything indicates that they will not be especially cheap devices, that is, that it will be their entry level, but that it may not be in the general segment of the entry range. Next we will find the 5000 series, as a middle ground of your offer, and in the upper part of the table are framed the Series 7000 and 8000, with the top of the range of Eunia.

It is important to clarify, however, that its arrival on the market will take place progressively. The first of the monitors to hit the market will be the 34M2C7600MV, which will debut next December. Then, in January, three other screens will arrive, the models 42M2N8900, 34M2C8600 and 27M2C5500W, and the arrival of keyboards, mice, headphones and pads is expected in the medium term, starting in June of next year. New high-performance screens will also be added later.

A very interesting aspect of Evnia has to do, however, with the software, and that is that its proposal involves using a single software solution to manage profiles of all the devices, and that as a differential element will allow you to store them in the cloudsomething that allows us both to recover them if we are using any of our devices in another system, and to have a backup of them in case of failure of our system that prevents us from recovering them locally.

With Evnia, Philips proposes, at least a priori, a new and interesting proposal for the world of gaming, with a profile that differs from what exists up to nowand with products that both in view of their specifications and the tests that we were able to carry out during their presentation, aim to offer a gaming experience premium. You’ll make it? Part with good wicker and good ideas, now we will have to wait to see what time says.
