Expensya, the firm behind the well-known expense management solution for companies, has confirmed an extension of its commitment to the environment announcing the creation of the first forest with his name in the region of Asturias, a movement that represents a small, but important, step in favor of caring for the planet.
According to the data shared by Expensya, more pollution is generated each year by the loss of forests than by emissions from all global transport, and a single tree can absorb the CO2 emitted by a car in a year It circulates between 10,000 and 20,000 kilometers per year. This means that reforestation is one of the most effective forms of sustainability that exist.
With this in mind, it is not surprising that Expensya, together with Bosquia, a social enterprise focused on collective reforestation, planted 230 native species on land in Llanés, Asturias, last Saturday, March 19, which will allow offset 85 tons of carbon derived from the professional trips of their teams.
On the other hand, and to make the forest continue to grow, Expensya has committed itself, from now on, to invest 1 euro for each new license sold. Since its creation in 2014, the start-up has also been helping companies digitize their documents and become aware of the need to use paper responsibly.
Maria Teresa Rendo Botana, Regional Sales Lead – Iberian from Expensya commented:
“One of the challenges of Expense is to support companies to digitize themselves and to limit paper printing and sending documents from point A to point B. That is why it seemed important to us to carry out, with our clients, a visible action in this regard. We want teach how important our planet is and that each gesture contributes. During the previous phase of the project we had several proposals for land in Spain, but we chose Asturias to inaugurate our first forest due to its immense green appeal. Not for nothing is it known as the ‘Natural Paradise’ of Spain, almost 1 percent of all the planet’s biosphere reserves are found in this region».
