On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Fallout license, Bethesda has just announced the surprise arrival of a next-gen patch on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC for Fallout 4. On the program, better graphics, a higher framerate high and 4K definition.
Since the release of next-gen consoles at the end of 2020, many cult PS4 and Xbox One titles have received a PS5 and Xbox Series patch. This was particularly the case of GTA V, The Last of Us Part 2, Control or Uncharted 4 to name a few. We also had the right to some Remastered like that of Alan Wake for example.
Released in 2015 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, Fallout 4 remains one of the most popular titles from Bethesda’s eponymous license. Gold and on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the franchise, the American publisher now owned by Microsoft has announced good news. In effect, the title will receive a next-gen patch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC in 2023.

Fallout 4 will receive a next-gen patch on PS5, Xbox Series and PC
“Prepare for the future: a next-gen update is coming to Fallout 4! Scheduled for 2023, this update will be free for Xbox Series X/S, Playstation 5 and Windows PC systems. It will include a Performance mode for high frame rates, a Quality mode for 4K gameplay, bug fixes and even bonus Creation Club content.” specifies Bethesda on an official blog post.
Excellent news for the fans, who will be able to rediscover on consoles and PC the wastelands of Fallout 4 in the best conditions. Note, however, that excellent mods on PC already do the job perfectly.
Separately, Bethesda also announced new content coming to Fallout 76 to celebrate this 25th anniversary. A new temporary event called Spooky Scorched is opening its doors and will be accessible until November 8, 2022. And every day, from October 25 to November 8, players will be able to claim a free item from the Atomic Shop. As a reminder, The Witcher 3 must also accommodate a PS5 and Xbox Series X / S patch. According to CD Projekt RED, the deployment of this next-gen update is still planned by the end of 2022.
