FieldView and xFarm Technologies connect their platforms for farmers to use

New business agreement draft for the farmers. FieldView and xFarm Technologies have recently announced a new collaboration to connect their respective platforms.

The goal is to facilitate data sharing for farmers and help consolidate and streamline farm operations.

FieldView is the flagship digital agriculture platform for Bayern, which helps farmers manage their farms more efficiently, from sowing to harvest, thanks to information from satellites as well as smart machinery and equipment. It has been adopted on more than 80 million hectares in 23 countries around the world.

xFarm Technologies is a technology company that helps the agri-food sector go digital, providing innovative tools that can help farmers and stakeholders in running their businesses. xFarm Technologies supports the work of 140,000 farms belonging to more than 50 supply chains on 1.8 million hectares.

The integration of the platforms

FieldView allows farmers to collect, visualize and analyze agronomic data. In addition, farmers can use their data to make more effective agronomic decisions and optimize operations through a prescription mapping system that allows them to conduct defense, nutrition and planting operations with variable rate technology.

xFarm offers a comprehensive farm management solution that integrates data from machinery and sensors, decision support systems satellite images and other data sources, providing farmers with an all-in-one platform to improve their day-to-day work.

The collaboration envisions connecting the two platforms, allowing users to share data between their FieldView and xFarm accounts in real time. Farmers will be able to share the boundaries of their fields, as well as the data of planting, harvesting and other operations.

This will allow farmers to take advantage of complementary features, avoiding double data entry by using data from both platforms to improve their agronomic practices through FieldView and optimize their farm management through xFarm. In line with the European Green Deal, the increase in sustainable practices and digital traceability obligations, farmers will have the opportunity to use the automatic data collection carried out through FieldView to document their farming activities in xFarm.

Farmers will keep the full control of your data and they will be the only ones managers of the connection between both platforms. They will be able to activate or revoke the connection independently and at any time, as well as activate or deactivate the exchange of data.

The collaboration between FieldView and xFarm Technologies has a global reach and the data transfer can be activated by users in any country where both platforms are commercialized. However, active collaboration will begin in Spain and Italy, two countries where FieldView has been working successfully for years and where xFarm Technologies has a consolidated presence.

Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies, states: “We are very satisfied with this partnership. We believe that the integration between our platform and FieldView can significantly contribute to the digitization of agriculture and make farms in these two countries even more efficient, innovative and sustainable, which are located in one of the areas most exposed to climate change, as energy crises. The connectivity between xFarm and FieldView and the corresponding data exchange will help farmers who trust us to face future challenges with greater confidence.”.

Christine Brunel-Ligneau, EMEA digital farming solution customer enablement lead for Bayer CropScience, comments: “Farmers are always looking to use field data to make decisions throughout the growing season. However, until recently, they tended to have difficulties in two fundamental aspects: the collection of data from different sources and its processing in a way that allows operational decisions to be made. We are very excited about this partnership, which will give farmers more ways to access their data and use it more effectively.”.
