It has become a tradition at every World Cup. EA, the publisher of FIFA games, has a habit of simulating all the matches of the competition on the latest title of the license to predict the big winner. Since 2010, the American company has been right every time. Here is his verdict for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
As each FIFA World Cup approaches, EA, the publisher of FIFA games, has made a habit of simulate all the upcoming matches of the competition in the different game modes of the latest title available. Far from trivial, the American company got it right for the last three world competitions, namely:
- Spain in 2010
- Germany in 2014
- And of course, France in 2018
And as you know, the kick-off of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be given on November 20, 2022 with the Qatar/Ecuador match. France will start their championship in Group D against Australia on November 22, 2022.

EA is betting on Argentina as the big winner of the 2022 World Cup
As we are only a few days away from the starting signal, EA has decided to reveal its prediction for the big winner of the competition. “We used EA Sports FIFA 23 with revolutionary HyperMotion 2 technology and dedicated FIFA World Cup 2022 leaderboards in FIFA World Cup Kick-Off and Tournament modes to simulate all 64 matches and see who emerges victorious in December ”, explains the publisher in an official blog post.
Thus and according to EA, the final will be dominated by Latin America, since it will be played between Argentina and Brazil. And it is precisely the Albicelestre of Lionel Messi who would lift the Cup, after a tight game that ended with a single goal from the Argentine striker. According to EA’s predictions, it would be his 8th goal in the tournament.
If we therefore find Brazil in second place, France would be in 3rd position. Note that EA has released other predictions. According to the simulations performed, Lionel Messi would therefore win the Golden Shoe for his 8 goals in 7 games, including the decisive goal in the final. The Ballon d’Or would also go to him as the tournament’s best player. As for the Golden Glove, it would be awarded to Emiliano Martinez from the Argentine team. It remains to be seen whether the reality on the ground will prove EA right or not. As a reminder, FIFA 23 signed a record launch with more than 10 million players during its first week of operation.
