With the rise of streaming platforms, we have completely changed the way we consume content. This even concerns football, with, for example, Ligue 1 matches on Amazon Prime Video. FIFA also wants its share of the cake and launches FIFA+, its dedicated service.

FIFA+ is therefore a platform designed for football. completely free, it is accessible on Android, iOS, but also directly on a browser. It is available in five languages, including French.

FIFA+ wants to be the Netflix of the ball

On its service, FIFA promises to broadcast more than 40,000 matches per year from all over the world, including 11,000 from women’s football. For the moment, we should not all the same hope for posters from the major European championships, since the rights of the latter have already been purchased at a high price by other broadcasters.

The football fan will find there archives of world cup matches. Want to see the mythical Argentina England of 1986? It’s possible. Rather interesting. Finally, documentaries on cooler subjects will also be available. The first concerns Ronaldinho.

The platform will not only be dedicated to video, since the results of all the matches in the world and statistics will be listed. Something to delight fans of somewhat obscure championships from all continents. To take advantage of FIFA+, there is nothing to pay, the service being completely free. This is FIFA’s first major move into streaming. The federation obviously does not want to let slip this very juicy market that it intends to make profitable in one way or another in the future (we are talking about FIFA).

The first major test of the platform will take place in November with the World Cup in Qatar. What will FIFA+ offer on this occasion? Will it have an additional interest compared to the matches broadcast on television? We will see. In any case, the site already offers tickets via a dedicated tab…
