First official poster for Uncharted with Tom Holland

Tom Holland is definitely on all dates. The British actor, currently starring in Spider-Man: No Way Home, has other plans on the go, starting with the adaptation of Uncharted. The first poster has just been unveiled.

Tom Holland will weave the web of a new cinematographic universe. The actor who plays Peter Parker for Sony and Marvel will treat himself to a foray into the franchise Uncharted, with the first part of a saga inspired by the eponymous video games. Always under the direction of Sony, of which he obviously has the good graces, the British actor will camp the young man during his first treasure hunt.

In this epic across the globe, he will be accompanied by Victor Sullivan, alias Sully (Mark Wahlberg), and will go in search of his missing brother. It will therefore be a question of returning to the origins of the iconic character of the Naughty Dog license. But the first images did not really convince fans of the genre, many are worried about seeing the character betrayed by the studios.

A release next February

On Twitter, Sony shared the first official poster for the film directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland and Venom). We obviously find the two main protagonists there, in front of the wreck of a boat. The other actors are not on the other hand, starting with Antonio Banderas who should play the villain of this film. They will also give the reply to Tati Gabrielle (The New Adventures of Sabrina) and Sophia Taylor Ali (Grey’s Anatomy). The latter will play Chloe Frazer, an important character in the video game license, former love of the treasure hunter. We can therefore expect it to become his “Love interest” in the movie.

See you on February 16, 2022 at the cinema for Uncharted. Note that in parallel with the release of the feature film, Sony will unveil Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection on Playstation 5 and PC. The Japanese manufacturer will therefore have it both ways, to attract fans of the license, but also action and adventure film enthusiasts, in the tradition of Indiana Jones or Lara Croft. It remains to be seen if the public will be there and if the film will succeed in winning at the box office, probably to a lesser extent compared to Spider-Man: No Way Home, which already promises to establish the annual record of attendance of dark rooms.
