Forspoken raises eyebrows among PC users, why?

Forspoken is one of the great releases of the beginning of the year. A moment when It is not very common to put anything new on the market but that for some time Square-Enix has been exploiting repeatedly with really good results. The problem is that this time, it seems that the game has not arrived as expected by some of the PC users who have bought it.

What about Forspoken?

The reality is that it seems that the ban has been opened and that it no longer costs anything to start hitting the Luminous Productions game which, in the case of PC, seems to be your technical requirements are too high Or, perhaps, as some of those who have bought it think, it is not understandable that state-of-the-art hardware does not reach the same levels of quality that PlayStation 5 does with more modest hardware (in theory).

And, indeed, that ideal is that we can play with Forspoken in 4K resolution and at 60 frames per second. Well, even if you have an NVIDIA RTX 4080 graphics card, an Intel 12900K i9 processor and 32GB of RAM, it will not be possible for you to even reach that limit, leaving the maximum at 40 fps. What do you think?

This has been revealed by an acquaintance youtuber who uploads daily performance videos of games on different systems, who has tested the version on both consoles and PC and, for the latter case, has created an interesting piece of work in which compare the result of playing with Forspoken with default parameters compared to doing it with the famous DLSS 2 activated.

I have been testing Forspoken on PC. I definitely do not consider it acceptable that using an RTX 4080, i9 12900k and 32Gb DDR5 you get an average of 40fps at 2160p. To be honest, I don’t think we’ll ever see another Luminous Engine game again. Soon video. https://t.co/TkaRuf6jUj

Is the fault of the graphics engine?

According to The Bit Analyst the blame must be attributed to the engine, the vaunted one Luminous Engine that brings this release to life from Square Enix from which he already predicts that all the problems start, so according to him we will not see anything else with that tool. Remember that many studios opt, in order not to have to pay anything to developers of other alternatives (such as Unreal, for example), to program their own solutions that end up being a real headache.

In any case, it is very possible that in the next few days Square-Enix will get down to work to make the game work better on PCespecially if we take into account that in the case of PlayStation 5 the game moves freely and without problems, so what many users have been suffering from since its launch on January 24 should not occur in its equivalent on computers.

Anyway, It does not seem that Forspoken have raised expectations that now do not meet. One only has to look at the recommended requirements posted on Steam for gaming at 1440p (2K) and 30 fps to understand that making the jump to 4K/60 was going to be very painful:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit.
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.7GHz or better) / Intel Core i7-8700K (3.7GHz or better).
  • RAM memory: 24 GB.
  • Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB VRAM.
  • DirectX: Version 12.
  • Storage: 150 GB of available space on SSD.
