If you receive an email in your inbox entitled “Code Promo Free 2022” and having “Boutiques Free” as the sender, we advise you to be extremely vigilant. Indeed, these emails are not official, and are in fact part of of a new phishing campaign targeting the operator’s customers.

By opening their email, here is what you can find: “Limited Time Opportunity, Get €1000 Promotional Reward. Your address has been chosen to obtain an exclusive offer. Please simply complete our 1 min questionnaire on Free”. Well, you know the song, no operator will offer you 1000 euros for your loyaltyand this is all just a big scam to get your personal data.

This promotion offered by Free is a scam

By clicking on one of the images contained in the email, the Internet user will be redirected to a web page created from scratch by the pirates. Here you will be asked to complete a questionnaire about your experience with Free. Incidentally, we note that the announced gain has melted like snow in the sun, since it has gone from 1000 € to 90 dollars (yes, the currency used also changes).

To complete the table of the good phishing email, we will find at the bottom of the page the usual fake user reviews who “did not believe it before receiving their package” or who thought that “it was a joke before they received their new Samsung Galaxy”. Which, by the way, has nothing to do with the promised reward on the web page of 90 dollars.

This is obviously not the first time that Free subscribers have been targeted by malicious campaigns of this kind. In January 2022, Free Mobile users were targeted by fake text messages, this time with the aim of obtaining bank details. The same month, another phishing campaign affected Free Mobile customers. In this case, it was fake text messages claiming suspicious activity on your account. As Free reminds us in its support, systematically ignore these emails and report them on the www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr and Phishing Initiative platforms.
