Garmin presents its Venu 2 Plus, a watch capable of making calls

Connected to the smartphone’s voice assistant, the Garmin Venu 2 Plus can now make voice calls and send text messages directly to your voice.

CES 2022 is in full swing. Despite several withdrawals, and another complicated year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, brands continue to present products that will expand their ranges in 2022. Yesterday, sports smartwatch manufacturer Garmin stood out . The American unveiled his Come 2 More, which now allows voice commands directly from the voice assistant of his phone.

Calls and texts at your fingertips

Concretely, the Venu 2 Plus stands out in the tradition of the Venu 2 series, launched earlier this year. There is thus a complete monitoring of health, well-being and fitness data, and in particular the sleep score, stress monitoring, energy level, the Pulse Ox pulse oximeter.

On the design side, however, the Venu 2 Plus offers a third button that could make the difference. For its first CES 2022 watch, Garmin is relying on a manually activated microphone in the center of the housing. Concretely, it will be possible to answer and make calls directly from your watch, provided that the latter is obviously paired with a nearby smartphone. A detail that will undoubtedly give you the impression of being a spy of the 80s, but which will also offer several new possibilities. Starting with the support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. In addition to voice dictation, it will be possible to control your home connected directly to the voice.

In the tradition of Venu 2

Apart from its microphone, the Venu 2 Plus will take over all of the technical data already allocated to the Venu 2. This new model is nevertheless distinguished by the format of its case, which displays a waist size of 43 mm, halfway between the Venu 2S (40 mm) and the Venu 2 (45 mm). Autonomy side, Garmin promises 9 days of use before having to go through the charge box. The price for its part offers a significant increase, since it is necessary to pay € 449.99 to take advantage of the Venu 2 Plus, i.e. 50 € more than the original model. The model is already available on the brand’s official website, as well as at some retailers.
