Until then only accessible via the Nvidia Shield, streaming in 4K 60 FPS is now available on Windows and macOS. To do this, Nvidia uses its DLSS technology, directly from the cloud. Note that the company is also expanding the list of smartphones that can stream at 120 Hz.
With the GeForce Now, Nvidia offers one of the best cloud gaming services on the market. Since its inception, GeForce Now has improved its offer by notably offering an RTX 3080 subscription, which allows you to enjoy all the power of Nvidia’s latest GPU. Via this formula, players can have a resolution that can go up up to 1440p, all at 120 frames per second. This resolution could also go up to 4K, provided you own an Nvidia Shield TV running Android 11.
4K/60FPS streaming finally available on Windows and macOS
Note that this is no longer the case, since Nvidia has just confirmed support for 4K and 60 FPS streaming on Windows and macOS. Of course, you will have to subscribe to the RTX 3080 formula to take advantage of it. “4K streaming is boosted by Nvidia DLSS, a breakthrough AI rendering technology that boosts graphics performance using dedicated AI Tensor Core processors on RTX GPUs.” adds Nvidia.
This is not the only announcement from Nvidia. Indeed, the manufacturer also explains that it has expands the list of smartphones compatible with 120 Hz streaming. Now, RTX 3080 subscribers and owners of a Galaxy S22, S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 or a OnePlus 9 Pro will be able to play their favorite game at 120 frames per second. As a reminder, this list already contained all the Galaxy S21 models, the Galaxy Note 20, the Asus ROG 5, the Google Pixel 6 Pro without forgetting the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Mi 10.
