XMG presented the NEO 16 and NEO 17 models of laptops dedicated to gaming at CES 2023. The German manufacturer of high-end gaming laptops reveals the prices of the portable version of Nvidia’s RTX 40XX cards.
The first computers equipped with the portable version of the GeForce RTX 4090 will begin to flood the market. If we did not expect Nvidia to offer the extreme model of its graphics cards at an affordable price, the price quoted by XMG for its gaming laptop, the NEO 16 e23still has something to sting the eyes.
XMG took advantage of CES 2023 to present the new models of its series of laptops dedicated to gamers. The XMG NEO 16 and XMG NEO 17 share the same spec sheetand only the size of their WQXGA screen (16 and 17 inches respectively, in 16:10 format for a rate of 240Hz refresh) differentiates them.
The NEO 16 in basic version with RTX 4060 8 GB costs 2199 €
The NEO 16 will be powered by an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor and the graphics will be provided by a GeForce RTX 4060, 4070, 4080 or 4090. The RAM can range from 16 to 64 GB with DDR5-5600 or DDR5-6400 modules. . This machine is dedicated to hardcore gamers. It is therefore possible to add a system of external liquid cooling, the XMG OASIS. The rest of the specifications are in keeping: from the overclocking of the RAM and the processor, to the type of spring of the mechanical keyboard, almost everything is configurable.
Let’s come to the price of the XMG NEO 16 e23. In its initial configuration, based on Intel Core i9-13900HX, with 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM and 500 GB of NVMe M2 SSD storage, it is sold for 2199 €. The upgrade to a GeForce RTX 4090 adds no less than €1687 to the bill, for a total of 3886 €. The version with an RTX 4080 only costs €1050 more, or €3249. Such prices necessarily make you think before you buy. This may be the game of Nvidia’s big competitor. AMD has just unveiled the performance of its RX 7000 for laptops, and these are far superior to those of the RTX 3060. They too will be released in February 2023 and they will, perhaps, be more affordable.
