GeForce RTX 4090 Ti spotted thanks to a mining site? Not so fast!

A mining farm spotted on the web claims to be equipped with Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 7000, i.e. future graphics cards from both manufacturers. This installation shows a hashrate rate of 3 TH / s.

We may be at the end of the year, period of the Christmas miracles, we find it hard to believe the latest listing from Fleexpool, a popular mining pool in the cryptosphere. As a reminder, an extraction pool consists of pooling the resources of the miners (processing power) to accelerate the resolution of calculations.

According to this list shared by Wccftech, there is a mining farm consisting of Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 7000 GPUs. Only, hard to believe, since these graphics cards have not even been announced by the two manufacturers. For now, only a few information has leaked about the GeForce RTX 4090, and claims a doubled power compared to the GeForce RTX 3090.

But none of this is official. There isn’t even an RTX 3090 Ti, unless Nvidia decides to prove the contrary at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. To summarize, it is difficult to see how two GPUs that will not be available before the end of 2022 ended up in a mining farm.

Unlikely and Incredible Mining Capabilities

The rumor is therefore based on a particularly unstable basis, and the situation gets worse when we take a look at the supposed mining performance of these GPUs. According to screenshots from Flexpool, the GeForce RTX 4090 Ti displays a hashrate between 1.2 and 1.3 TH / s. As our colleagues at Wccftech point out, the GeForce RTX 3090, the current Rolls-Royce from Nvidia, is capable of reaching between 110 and 120 MH / s.

In other words and if Flexpool is to be believed, this machine titled GeForce RTX 4090 Ti would achieve hash rates that would require around 10,000 RTX 3090. Just that. To this must be added the supposed mining capacities of the AMD Radeon RX 7000, which in “Control Test” records 657.3 GH / s and in overclocking displays 580 GH / s.

In fact, this farm would be able to achieve a hash rate of 3.91 TH / s in Ethereum, with an average of 2.47 TH / s. Results, she would be able to mine $ 4 million in Ethereum per month, at the rate of 20,000 dollars in ETH every 3 hours. Figures far too good to be true, right?
