House of the Dragon, the prequel to Game of Thrones based on House Targaryen, it will finally come to HBO Max this 2022. And George RR Martin, creator of the universe of Song of ice and fire has already seen a preview in the form of its first episode. If you want to know what their opinion is, we will tell you in great detail. As you will see, it has a lot to say.
We are all looking forward to the arrival of the series this year The House of the Dragon. The 10-episode prequel to Game of Thrones takes us into the history of the Targaryens. With Matt Smith (The Crown, Morbius, Doctor who…) at the head, we will not deny that we also have misgivings.
The wound of what HBO did with the last seasons of George RR Martin’s legendary work is still fresh. For this reason, we take the news and advances with great caution.
And shortly before the end of the year it was Martin himself who added fuel to speculation and hype.
Apparently, he exclusively watched the first episode of House of the Dragon and has a few things to say about him.
What George RR Martin thinks of the series The House of the Dragon
The House of the Dragon It is based on the book Fire and blood, set 300 years before the events narrated in Game of Thrones. In a post on his blog, George RR Martin finally puts off the football results to tell us that he has seen the first chapter of the new series and this is his opinion about it:
I’m also looking forward to The House of the Dragon, for what it’s worth. Okay, clearly I’m not objective. And I know a lot about what’s going to happen in it (I, um, did write the book after all). Also … the word now is “mom,” but don’t tell anyone. I have seen a first cut of the first episode. And i loved it. Is dark, it’s powerful, it’s visceral… Just how I like my epic fantasy.
Ryan and Miguel (refers to Ryan J. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, the producers of the series) they have done an incredible job, and the cast… As with Game of Thrones, most viewers will only have heard of a few of the actors, but I think they are going to fall in love with many of them. (And that’s so they’ll break your heart later when… I’m not going to say anything, that would be spoiling).
I think the Targaryens are in very good hands.
Go ahead, get excited. I don’t think I will disappoint you.
As we can see, Martin’s opinion is very positive and invites fans to get excited again.
It’s clear that he’s obviously not going to say anything bad about the show before it starts. What is certain is that he is honored that he also showed his dissatisfaction with the final treatment that was given to Game of Thrones. We will see if this contributes to increase the expectation for The House of the Dragon, which had deflated quite a bit.
