German consumer organization highlights the value of five AVM products

The Stiftung Warentest is the German equivalent to the Spanish OCU (Organization of Consumers and Users), and has great weight in our northern neighbor due to its rigor and objectivity. This entity also performs tests with different products to give them a duly founded assessment that helps, in general, consumers to be able to differentiate in a simple and clear way if they are facing a quality product or not. AVM’s products have passed many of its tests over the past decades.

To give you a little more context, the Stiftung Warentest was founded in 1964 and is a German consumer organization. dedicated to the investigation and comparison of products and services in an impartial way. It is known for its exhaustive and elaborate quality tests, and for participating in the main international consumer advocacy networks, such as ICRT, BEUC and ANEC.

This time it was the turn of the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX, FRITZ!Box 7530 AX and FRITZ!Box 6690 routers, three models that shared a test round with five other devices. The experts of the Stiftung Warentest that carried out these tests, gave a general assessment of quality “good” to those three routers, which also achieved the rating of “very good” in the specific categories of handling, security and telephony. They were the only three products in the comparison that achieved these distinctions.

In terms of energy efficiency, the FRITZ!Box 7530 AX offered the lowest energy consumption of all the devices evaluated in this edition, and by far, since it barely reached 6 watts in active modethat is, less than an LED bulb, a truly impressive fact that makes it one of the most efficient devices in its category.

The FRITZ!Repeater 6000 and FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX repeaters also passed the round of tests at the Stiftung Warentest. This entity tested a total of ten Wi-Fi Mesh systemsa technology that allows you to extend the range of wireless networks by combining routers, Wi-Fi repeaters and PLC adapters with Wi-Fi repeater creating a mesh network.

The FRITZ!Repeater 6000 and FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX from AVM received the quality rating “good” and a score of 2.0, the best in tests. This is quite an acknowledgment, but also the Stiftung Warentest technicians highlighted that “In testing, these two repeater solutions from AVM have proven to be the best.”

Experts have also pointed out that, unlike other systems, FRITZ!Repeaters offer an automatic update function, something that has a positive impact on security and is very important when it comes to keeping a Wi-Fi network protected. Last but not least, the FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX received a special mention due to its “particularly cheap” price in the exhaustive analysis carried out by Stiftung Warentest.
