Getac X600, a workstation capable of facing any challenge

The Getac X600 is shaping up to be a ruggedized workstation that’s packed with powerful components while, at the same time, It has a high quality finish and a construction so resistant that is capable of facing practically any challenge, as we will see in this article.

Externally, the Getac X600 has a classic and discreet design, which allows it to fit seamlessly into any workspace. This workstation has military grade resistance certification MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G and IP66 certification, as well as optional CID2 certification (ANSI/UL 12.12.91). It is resistant to vibrations and drops of 1.2 m, as well as to the salt spray, shock, humidity, dust and extreme temperatures.

With regard to hardware, the Getac X600 mounts a 15.6-inch touch screen with 1080p resolution, it has a brightness of 1,000 nits, it has Lumibond technology, it uses Intel Core Gen11 processors (Tiger Lake, up to Core i9), it is can be configured with up to 128 GB of RAM and offers an optional configuration with graphics card NVIDIA QuadroRTX 3000.

The NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 is a graphics card for professional environments that is based on the architecture Turinghas 1,920 shaders, it has 120 texturing units, 64 raster units, 30 cores for accelerating ray tracing, and 240 tensor cores for AI. Its memory bus is 192 bits and it has 6 GB of GDDR6 at 14 GHz. It is a fairly powerful graphics solution, and a guarantee of performance if we are going to work with professional applications.

Jumping to power and connectivity, we see that the Getac X600 has two hot-swappable batteries totaling 240Wh, it has two 2.5GBASE-T Ethernet connectors, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2optional dedicated GPS and 4G LTE optional with integrated GPS. Its range of physical connectors is completed with Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA and a Serial Port.

The Getac X600 has a weight of 5 kilograms, making it one of the most balanced solutions in its class. It has not yet reached the market, so we do not know its sale price, but Getac has confirmed that it will be available from October 2022.
