Almost a year since its last update, GIGABYTE today announced the arrival of the new BRIX Extreme 2022 series of mini PCs, adopting the latest 12th Gen Intel Core mobile processors with Intel’s most scalable architecture to deliver superior performance and rise again as the most powerful compact computers on the market today.
Benefiting from a new Intel Core design for leadership performance, these processors significantly increase performance in the new performance hybrid design for superior single-threaded and multi-threaded performance. What’s more, we will also find the new Intel Iris Xe graphicswhich take graphics performance and multimedia processing to a new level thanks to their massive 96 EUs (Execution Unit) that allow users to play the latest DirectX 12 Ultimate games on ultra settings.
Furthermore, with exceptional graphics performance and DDR4 memory speeds of up to 3200 MHz, these processors boost processing performance with optimized energy efficiency for versatile applications including games, daily chores and entertainment.
And it is that these 12th generation processors highlight the 10nm technology, present a 10% increase in GPU performance, a 24% increase in multi-threading performance, and higher clock rates (at 4.70 GHz) compared to its predecessors, marking a milestone for the mobile platform. When it comes to benchmark tests, it’s inspiring to see SYSMark 25 performance scores improve 14% compared to 11th generation processors and also 28% in CrossMark.
Enhanced by GIGABYTE’s exclusive design, the BRIX Extreme 2022 integrates four display outputs, including HDMI 2.1, USB4, 2.5G Ethernet, plus the latest WiFi 6E configuration. Features that make this mini PC capable of creating content and handling high-performance AI acceleration, as well as supporting full 8K media support.
Regarding the rest of the components, the GIGABYTE BRIX Extreme offers two different models, a Slim version and a Tall version. The tall version is to enable additional storage capacity that allows users to install a 2.5″ SSD/HDD. In addition, the new upgrade kit features an I/O expander to add a second LAN connection, an RS232 communication port, and an M.2 2280. The kit greatly increases flexibility and functionality to suit various applications. Combined with different I/O outputs, the mini-sized BRIX systems offer limitless possibilities. Together with a VESA mount, BRIX can be easily mounted behind a monitor, fulfilling various applications in different fields of industry, commerce or education.
Even so, the new GIGABYTE BRIX Extreme 2022 not only stands as the highest performance mini PCs, but also the quietest models in its family.
And it is that these new models work at an almost undetectable sound level, below 20 dB. A low noise level is maintained even when running heavy workloads, where the sound level is still below 30 dB. Plus, when next-gen performance is needed, the 12th Gen Intel Core Mobile Processor enables boost mode with a TDP of up to 45W, still holding to a maximum of 35dB.
