
The increase in digitization has also led to an increase in concern about creating a safe environment so that people and companies can develop without threats.
Hence, in recent conversations, Google has shown its commitment to the Europe’s digital resiliencedescribing cybersecurity as a fundamental tool to undertake this task successfully.
This is why Google for Startups has ensured that applications to enroll in the new program are now open. Growth Academy: Cybersecurity, announced last fall in Madrid. A program that will begin in April and that will make the best Google tools available to European startups focused on cybersecurity.
Selected entrepreneurs will participate in a series of workshops with industry experts, both from Google and outside, and will receive expert advice on developing strategies, sales, and potential partnerships. In addition, they will also have the opportunity to contact executives from key companies in the sector such as VirusTotal and Mandiant —two emerging cybersecurity organizations acquired by Google in 2012 and 2022, respectively—, as well as leading companies in Europe, who will help them better understand the ecosystem.
The program will be developed around three face-to-face moments that will take place in Europe, including Malaga, home to a new Google security engineering center for joint research on advanced threats set to open later this year.
This initiative adds to Google’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity in Spain. Including the regional tour on online security “Protect your business”, which tours Spain with the mission of connecting, training and supporting small businesses.
Growth Academy: Cybersecurity It is specifically designed for European companies looking to scale internationally and focus on some element of cybersecurity: prevention, protection and investigation, or threat analysis.
Requirements
Companies that want to participate in the program must meet the following criteria:
- They must be companies in the initial phase and Series A: We look for emerging companies that already have a validated product or service in the market.
- Based in Europe: This program is specifically aimed at European start-ups looking to grow internationally.
- They must have an activity focused on some aspect of cybersecurity: We are looking for start-ups working on solutions related to prevention, protection, investigation, threat analysis or threat sharing.
- Have demonstrable traction capacity: The business must already be generating revenue or acquiring users.
