Google Maps now allows you to explore interiors

Although the spotlight at Tuesday’s Google event went, with many quotes, to Bard, Google Maps was also present at the same, with the announcement of the launch of some functions previously announced but that, until now, had not reached the map service of the search engine company. Better late than never, of course, even if it is to try to fill a presentation with content that, in terms of AI, did not live up to expectations and, above all, to the pace set by Microsoft.

Be that as it may, it is true that Google Maps is one of the most popular services of the company, it is difficult to find someone who has never used them and, as a general rule, they are of enormous help for all kinds of trips. It is true that sometimes they can play it against you (they did it to me in the north junction of Madrid, an area that has been recently renovated, just a few days ago), but if we weigh the pros and cons, it is undoubtedly the positive wins by a landslide.

A key reason for this is that Google constantly works to improve the maps, Either by adding more functions or improving the existing ones, there are more than enough reasons for Google Maps to be the great reference in its sector. There are other alternatives that also deserve distinction, and in which we can also see important innovations, but in the end, Google’s ends up being the reference.

Google Maps now allows you to explore interiors

Among the news announced at the event, we learned that Google Maps would start showing interiors of more locationsthrough which we can move in the same way that we already do outdoors with Street View, which is complemented by Live View, a superimposition of Street View images, satellites and information in real time, which will offer us a much better simulation. more realistic of the reproduced environment.

While we await the arrival of Live View in Spain, what we can use from this very moment is Google Maps to explore interiors of buildings, at the moment shopping centers and airports in Madrid and Barcelona. Its handling, as indicated here, is similar to that of Street View, so we will only have to navigate in Google Maps to the place we want to explore and proceed as usual. Thus, in a matter of seconds, we can be “walking” inside the place we have chosen, be it (for now), an airport or a shopping center.
