The Google Pixel 6a is shaping up to be a cheaper alternative to the Google Pixel 6. We had already told you about it before, and although we qualify it as a mid-range model, a recent leak that collects its specifications indicates that it will be more of a high-end model, since it will use the same SoC as its older brother, the Google Pixel 6.
In terms of design, we don’t expect any change important compared to the Google Pixel 6. The new Google will maintain both the line and all the nuances of that in the Google Pixel 6a, including the full screen front with a camera integrated into a floating island, and also the horizontal space reserved for the two rear cameras, which will continue to protrude considerably from the chassis.
The quality of materials should also be the same, so we can expect a chassis made of aluminum and a glass finish on the front and back. This is equivalent to a premium finish, something typical of the high range. As far as its specifications are concerned, the Google Pixel 6a could be, according to this leak, very close to the Google Pixel 6.

The launch of the Google Pixel 6a could take place sometime in may, a date that raises some doubts in me, since the Google Pixel 5a 5G was launched in August of last year. Google may choose to advance the Google Pixel 6a, it would make sense, but since it is not confirmed, and due to the discrepancy that I have indicated, I am not convinced by that idea of a launch in May.
Regarding the price, we have an important controversy. Some sources say that the Google Pixel 6a will cost $600, a figure that doesn’t make any sense since it would be directly stepped on with the Google Pixel 6. Other sources are more sensible and aim for 500 dollars, a much more credible strip and that fits even better, with the price of its predecessor, the Google Pixel 5a 5G, which hit the market for $449.
