Gotham Knights: video shows Nightwing and Red Hood gameplays

Gotham Knights is still a long way from debuting, but the game just got a preview of what players will be able to find in-game. This Tuesday (10), Warner Bros. Games and DC have revealed what the gameplay will look like with the heroes Nightwing and Red Hood.

The two characters will only be part of the title’s main cast, which will also feature the illustrious presence of Robin and Batgirl. In this production, which mixes action and RPG, Batman is dead and it will be up to the four heroes to patrol the streets of Gotham City to face criminals from the mysterious Court of Owls.

Night Wing

The just over 13-minute video of Gotham Knights features the gameplay of Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson. Apparently, the hero will be found in the middle of the game’s story, on a city patrol.

All Knights can unlock heroic ways to move around the city. For Nightwing, the locomotion used will be his Flying Trapeze glider.

Speaking of combat, Nightwing will have an acrobatic style, similar to that of an Olympic gymnast — only with the iconic eskrima clubs. It will also bring abilities like Elemental Shockwave, which interrupts enemy attacks and causes elemental state effects.

Red hood

Another Gotham Knights hero whose gameplay was revealed was Red Hood. The character has gained new abilities after being revived by an assassin cult and will be able to use the Mystic Leap to move around the city, powered by the energy of his own soul.

In combat, his ranged attacks fire non-lethal projectiles, but they do a lot of damage. His barrage ability deals piercing damage to interrupt armored attacks, and he can also drop bombs on enemy foes for area-of-effect explosions.

The video also shows the possibility of co-op gameplay, crimes framed as minigames – with optional rules and objectives -, boost bar for powerful skills, fast travel across the map and other mechanics.

Gotham Knights will be pre-ordered

Along with the release of the gameplay video, Warner Bros. Games and DC also revealed that Gotham Knights will be available for pre-order starting this Tuesday on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store. More information can be found in this link.

The good news is that players who pre-order the game will receive the Kustomized 233 Batmoto skin at launch, based on the vehicle’s first appearance in DC’s Detective Comics #233.

The bad news is that Gotham Knights will arrive in October 25 This year’s PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S only — PS4 and Xbox One consoles were scrapped for the “best possible gaming experience.”
