The holding company, Grupo Moure, which includes the companies Elefante Azul, Autonetoil, Petronet and Washnet Factory, has delivered a check for a donation of 15,000 euros to the Impact Project of the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO)in Barcelona so that they can continue investigating tumors of unknown origin.
“We are committed to the well-being of our workers and the recent loss of the son of Juan Carlos Bello, one of our employees, last August due to cancer, has led us to support this study”, explains Esther Rocasalbas, head of the CSR area of Grupo Moure. «This is a significant moment for us as we materialize our commitment to research and the hope of finding answers and solutions for those suffering from tumors of unknown origin.” keep going.
The Impact Project, a study promoted by the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) and led by Dr. Ana Vivancoshead of the VHIO Cancer Genomics Group, is supported by the Carlos III Health Institute and focuses on the investigation of tumors of unknown origin.
“As these are rare tumors with a low incidence, we have little information about the genomic alterations associated with each of them”, details Dr. Vivancos. “One of the objectives of the project is to analyze the coding regions of all the genes of the genome, that is, the exome, to increase the probability of finding the genomic alteration that allows the patient to be diagnosed and offered the most appropriate treatment.”.
From the CSR area of Grupo Moure they have wanted to reiterate their commitment to the well-being of society and encourage other companies to join this fight against cancer: “every donation, every project supported, is a small grain of sand that contributes to building a better world; in this case, we are proud to be part of Project Impact”.
